Styles of Creative Intelligence in Mental Process

The intuitive style is usually focused on the outcome of particular actions. To a large extent, it is usually dependent on particular occurrences in the past that are associated with the situation at hand, and the decisions made are usually unprompted. It usually works through the physical senses that one is able to associate with a particular thing or experience. For example the smell of certain items will help in determining within a short time span that a particular item is rotten even before it is tested. The same case applies to the sense of hearing, touching, seeing and tasting. The mind has the power to make an instant analysis of the situation (Ruggiero 2003).

In business, it is regarded as a useful tool in the decision making process. Some of the business decisions usually require fast feedback in order to take advantage of an available opportunity. However, there may not be enough time to make a logical analysis of the opportunity cost, and the business owner will have to rely on intuition in order to determine the course of action to be taken. It is different from the other three styles of creative reasoning in the sense that it does not require time to contemplate over a particular thought.

The innovative style is mainly concerned with problem solving. It is usually methodical and data dependent whereby the existing information plays a significant role in determining the level of innovativeness. A person becomes innovative through exploration of a wide range of individual intelligences moving above the normal IQ (Lizbeth 2006). Once an individual is capable of identifying his/her intelligences, enhance them and use them in exploiting available opportunities and problem solving, innovativeness is achieved. In business, it is a significant intangible asset that yields tangible benefits. This is because innovative investors are capable of identifying profitable opportunities and are also able to solve difficult problems facing them.

Innovativeness in business also helps in creating new products and services, methods and investments. It helps in making predictions in regard to the future changes in the market, as well as engaging in mutual relationships that are significant for the success of the business. Innovativeness is generally a new approach of performing a particular task. It leads to development of new products and services. These must be distinct from the original ones if it has to be termed as innovation. It is different from intuition in the sense that it takes time to reach a particular decision. Its main goal is to create a positive difference that is more profitable to the business. It is the initial effort to put an idea in to practice which leads to a change in a product or the procedures of producing it (Lizbeth 2006).

The imaginative style is the capability for an individual to envision or predict, understand and make a reflection in terms of representations and imagery (Rowe 2004). A person visualizes possibilities in a graphical manner, observes, converts and becomes conversant with visual authenticity. He/she has the capability of imagining prospects, inventiveness, takes pleasure in writing and is broad minded. This style of creativity is usually stated in a sensory manner that tends to portray an individual’s creative insights, thoughts and approaches which are the indicators of a person’s intentions. In business this style is usually significant in predicting the most appropriate method of production.

Imagination is basically the origin of inventiveness since a person tends to visualize how things would be if particular products or processes were in a different manner (Ruggiero 2003). For example, a producer can imagine how the demand for his products can be if they were different from what he produces. It may not be clear how different they might be, but the fact is that there may happen to be a positive difference in the demand for products if there was a particular change. This is the foundation of inventiveness in the sense that an idea has to develop in order to satisfy a particular need. Imagination usually gives rise to several ideas which need to be analyzed and their applicability evaluated. Innovation comes later after identifying the best idea that is capable of bringing the desirable changes in the business.

This style of creative intelligence is different from the innovative style in the sense that it is based on what an individual may achieve from doing something that is initially not defined. With such thoughts, the means of achieving what has come up from imagination are thought out, and there comes innovation whereby changes are made in order to accomplish what was predicted through imagination. However, innovativeness is not always a result of imagination. It may also be acquired through learning or observation.

The inspirational style is mainly concerned with changes in the social set up. It is creative intelligence that results to motivation and encouragement, which gives an individual the strength of mind to move ahead with a visionary decision. It is mainly a characteristic of visionary persons (Rowe 2004). It is portrayed by farsighted leaders who have a dream of the future and the ability to assess the capability of individuals to accomplish personal goals. It is significant in increasing efforts aimed at achieving targets. Inspiration is important in all aspects of society. It helps in arousing the potential of people and encouraging them to make considerations towards changing their attitude in order to reinforce their determination. This is significant in generating an insight and steadfastness in finding a solution to conflicts and problems.

In a competitive market, businesses are usually faced with many problems. In order to succeed, it is important to posses the willpower that ensures the continuity of business. The investors who lack this strength usually fail to face challenges confidently, which may lead to closure of business. The inspirational style of creativity is important in maintaining focus on the success of business, thereby generating the desire to remain in it and accomplish its goal. It is mainly about means of coping with problems rather than providing a solution. However, the ability to handle a difficult situation is the basis for finding a solution. The difference between it with the others is the fact that they are mainly focused on solving a particular problem, or changing the way things work (Ruggiero 2003).
